Summary

Starting Feb. 16, 2003, when a customer places a deposit for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker at a participating retailer, they’ll receive a special, limited-edition playable disk featuring two games: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest -- an updated version of the game which was never released outside of Japan. The Master Quest version of Ocarina of Time contains the same overall storyline as the original Ocarina of Time adventure. However, the dungeons have been upgraded to be truly challenging, even to a Zelda master. [Nintendo]

Gaming Age

The controls in the GC versions of Zelda are airtight, even more fluid and responsive than the originals on the N64... The coolest bonus disk ever!

Nintendo Power

The story and game play are ever bit as interesting and compelling as they were when the game was originally released in 1998. [Mar 2003, p.134]

GameBiz

It’s the cream of the crop, it’s the Halo, the GTA Vice City and the Half-Life 2 of Nintendo, and it’s not to be missed.

Although "Wind Waker" could be a huge disappointment, Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master’s Quest won’t be.

Game Revolution

A port handled as well as this comes up practically as often as a deal like this. Bear in mind, it's still a port, and noticeably aged compared to brand new RPGs. But it's still a terrific game.

IGN

Points off for the lazy port -- but rest assured that Ocarina of Time has lost little of its luster, the Master Quest is a wonderful bonus for returning players.

Luckily, the sound more than makes up for any graphical shortcomings.

A sign that Nintendo is listening to the fans! The only major downside is that the graphics show their age. [Import]

Zelda - Ocarina of time is one of the best rpg's ever, i love it, beat it 4 times, and will beat it once again sometime soon, probably.

although the N64 game is just feels more natural to play, its still every bit as awesome as the original. i only deduct points for the dated grapics and the sometimes annoying c-stick.
