ACTIVE LIFE: Outdoor Challenge introduces the Active Life mat, a durable peripheral that lets players control the on-screen action with their hands and feet when used in conjunction with a Wii Remote. The Active Life mat supports and encourages vigorous activities such as running and jumping, allowing for an energizing game experience. From kayaking to mine cart adventures and obstacle-filled races, players will be able to use a variety of hand gestures and foot movements across the Active Life mat’s eight sensor inputs to control each event. Many of the game’s events can be enjoyed in head-to-head or cooperative multiplayer modes with a single mat, letting players enjoy the rush of competition or the gratification of teamwork as they play together. Created with families in mind, ACTIVE LIFE: Outdoor Challenge lets players put relatives and friends into the game by easily importing Mii characters saved on their Wii console. The game tracks progress by different users over time, comparing high scores and individual records for other users to view. ACTIVE LIFE: Outdoor Challenge also offers a variety of pre-set exercise routines, grouping the game’s events into workouts focusing on different areas of fitness such as endurance, reflexes and general body strength. Worth Playing
I'd definitely suggest checking out Active Life: Outdoor Challenge, especially if you've got a house full of young ones that you'd like to see be a bit more active when it comes to their gaming time.

The games are fun, diverse and work surprisingly well in conjunction with the mat and Wii remote.

As the second true title to promote healthy activity and get people off the couch and moving, Outdoor Challenge does have a good array of games to get people up and moving. Sadly, the motivation may dwindle after a period of play.

All in all, Active Life: Outdoor Challenge separates itself from Wii Fit as its own game, and succeeds quite well at it. While the different activities have a dearth of variety, it is still a fun experience for all ages.

Tackling the relatively brief career mode is sweat-inducing fun in the harder difficulties, and I enjoyed the retro Power Pad appeal. However, the pad constantly needs to be re-centered in front of your TV and it’s not wide enough for two adults to squeeze onto.

While the game is successful in some areas and downright creative in others, Active Life: Outdoor Challenge is not be the most entertaining or most beneficial way to get in shape.

Carol V gave it a9:
Wonderful exercise. I am 62 years old and find it hard to have the "gym discipline." This game takes care of that. I have a competitive nature, and this just fills the bill. Excellent exercise, challenging, and lots and lots of fun! Hope I can now get the metabolism up and lose some weight.

Kathy B. gave it a9:
Great game for all ages. Sure beats the video games of the past where you just sat on the couch. Let's players challenge each other in competition

Ron C. gave it a9:
This is a hit my grandson of 4 my daugter 20 and her friends love it my wife and all our friends think its great. It would be nice to advance through the single games at higher levels though some of them are just too easy for the older players

Robert B. gave it a9:
Game mat works extremely well. Like another comment, it's difficult to keep the mat centered, but that is a minor nit. The games are engaging and provide some friendly competition between kids or kids and adults. Game is very nicely done.

Jody R. gave it a7:
I love Wii Fit, but even at my level of fitness, the aerobic activities don't get my heart-rate up. We got Outdoor Challenge as an impulse buy and I'm happy we did - while it isn't as polished as Wii Fit, the exercises (in exercise mode at least) really get me sweating, and it's a lot more fun than watching a cheesy exercise DVD. Game mats are always a little annoying, but for some reason I find it easier to use with this game than I did with DDR.

Ellen K. gave it a5:
The game mat is much too small for two people, My 10 and 8 yr old girls could barely fit on it without touching each other. Interfering with each other is a better description. There is no way an adult could use this with another adult or even a child.
